Harry Hummels is a professor of Ethics, Organizations and Society at Maastricht University. His teaching and research mandate focuses on the search for responsibilities in trade and industry, a significant development in the world of business. Professor Hummels combines his educational tasks with a job in a leading sustainable asset management company. His intention is to benefit from this combination and to use his practical experience when he transfers knowledge to scholars and practitioners. He has a long record of publications on business ethics, sustainable investment and corporate shareholder engagement. He is, among other things, a fellow of the university’s European Centre for Corporate Engagement (ECCE), a member of the Advisory Board of the Initiative for Responsible Investing at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and member of the Supervisory Board of Pluryn. Alongside his work as part-time professor at Maastricht University, Harry Hummels is connected to SNS REAAL as a member of the board of SNS Asset Management. He is also directly involved in the development of SNS REAAL’s policies and practices on corporate responsibility After nearly five years as member of the executive board and commercial director of SNS AM, Harry Hummels and his friend and colleague Theo Brouwers decided to set up SNS Impact Investing. The new entity focuses on development investments in microfinance, agriculture in Southern Africa and water-related investments. |
