On the 25 th of January Ben Knapen, Minister for European Affairs and International Cooperation, was our first guest of this year. Ben Knapen is not only a politician, but worked as a jounalist as well. In the past Knapen was editor in chief for the newspaper NRC (1990-1996). Before he became editor in chief, he worked abroad as a reporter for the same newspaper. In 1996 he became senior director of Philips, where he was responsible for marketing and communication. In 1999 he joined the board of PCM publishers. In 2006 he left PCM and worked as a freelance reporter for the NRC, this time in south-east Asia. In 2010 he became Minister for European Affairs and International Cooperation in the cabinet Rutte I.
