With a theme such as “Success” comes a successful day moderator and in Ruud Lubbers, the conference has one.
His activities in the past for, amongst others, the United Nations and the CDA, as well as his record as serving the longest as prime minister of the Netherlands and minister of Economic Affairs, have given him a great amount of knowledge about how one can achieve success at a national and international level. He also acted as the chairman of the CDA and is an entrepreneur, giving him great insight in what it takes to be successful both individually and on a business-level.
Furthermore, he was a mediator for both the formation of the previous government as the one of the Balkenende III-government. He is also not afraid to be critical; this vision is a quality which suits the Asset International Conference well. Moreover, his prime ministership has shown his qualities as a leader and he possesses a great deal of charisma.

His affinity with the conference theme, as well as his broad societal views and involvement regarding sustainable development and his functions within the United Nations and Dutch politics are of added value for the conference. We are thrilled and thankful of the fact that he wants to play a large role in this year’s edition of the Asset International Conference.
