Hein van Oorschot, President of the Executive Board of Tilburg was born in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands on 14-12-1952. He was mayor of the City of Delft from 1997 until 2004, after a business career and employment in both national and regional government. He graduated in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and worked consecutive for the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment for the municipality of The Hague for a consultancy and management firm and for the city of Tilburg before he became mayor. In May 2004 he was appointed as President of the executive Board of Tilburg University.
