Name: Bram Eekels Age: 22 Study: Master Strategic Management Motivation: My application for the Asset International Conference Committee was driven by a couple of reasons. Knowing that in the second semester I only had to write my bachelor thesis and just had two courses left in my master's program, I came to the conclusion that it would be a nice opportunity to develop other skills as well. Chairing the committee also gives me a year of experience in aspects which will involve my professional carreer after graduating the Strategic Management program. Lastly, you get to meet many interesting and also famous people, which has been a great experience.
Vice-chairman: Name: Chi Chen Age: 23 Study: Research Master Economics Motivation: I want to experience a diversified, colorful and fantastic life during my study in the Netherlands! And I am eager to communicate with the local people, to learn from the western contemporaries and am ready for the cultural shocks. At the Asset Conference Committee, I have met a lot of super cool people and I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with them and learn from them. And I am very grateful that our committee gives me a feeling of home.
Secretary: Name: Richard Haans Age: 20 Study: 2nd year bachelor International Business Administration Motivation: I joined the conference committee because I had plenty of time left besides my study and student life. Although very intensive, the experience with the committee has been one of the best choices in my life; it’s a great addition to my CV, I’ve gotten to know a lot of great new people and I’ve gained an enormous amount of skills I would not have otherwise acquired. It has been challenging, but the rewards far outweigh the costs.
Treasurer: Name: Remco Jeckmans Age: 25 Study: Master Finance Motivation: Many firms hiring often look for extracurricular activities next to a study, this international conference is a great resume booster. Besides that, you learn a lot while having fun. In the meanwhile this function brings practise to my studies. External Affairs; Speakers: Name: Lindsay Walter Age: 23 Study: Pre-Master International Management Motivation: I applied for the conference committee because it is very interesting and challenging to organize the most prominent activity of Asset. As I am responsible for the External Affairs Speakers I am convinced we bring interesting speakers and together organize a successful formal activity.
External Affairs; Sponsoring: Name: Dominique Kuijs Age: 20 Study: 2nd year bachelor Business Administration Motivation: I have chosen to participate in the organisation the Asset International Conference after doing the Interfaculty Symposium at Asset. I really like organising events, underwhich the Conference, since they provide a very good experience and good training for some competences. Besides that it also puts me in a position where I have the privilege to get to know and have to cooperate with lots of people. This is also something that is very important to me.
External Affairs; Promotion: Name: Peter Schieven Age: 23 Study: Master Finance Motivation: I joined the conference committee as an extra activity besides writing my master thesis. It is something I should have done much earlier, since it is very interesting and I learn a lot during the organization of the conference. Besides that it is a lot of fun to do.
Coordinator: Name: Puck van den Biggelaar Age: 22 Study: Vice-chairman of Faculty Association Asset Motivation: As a coordinator I can facilitate the committee, in addition I like to offer the active members the change to develop themselves. The overall goal is to organize an informative and professional conference.
