The Blueprint of Success; unraveling the secret

Everybody wants to be the best in their respective fields; not only individuals but also corporations and nations strive for success. There are many different influences and aspects which play a role in the ability to excel . With the globalization and technologization of the world, the ways to accomplish success have changed rigorously and this has implications for individuals as well as businesses and political institutions.However, what is success exactly? Is there a link between different stages of success? Does a successful corporation consist of successful individuals or is the whole greater than the sum of its parts? Does a successful country produce successful individuals? These and related issues will be discussed during the Asset International Conference of 2011.

The answering of these issues will lead to the answer to the central question; what is the key to success? The ambition of the Asset International Conference 2011 is to further investigate and discuss these and related issues. During the conference we will focus on the scientific, political and business perspective on the topic and debate their interactions.

To provide a coherent and informative conference, leading people from several fields will share their opinion on these issues and offer their views on what it takes to be successful. Furthermore, students will be given the opportunity to actively participate during discussions and business cases.

The morning session will provide the audience with viewpoints from three different areas; scientific, business and political viewpoints. During the scientific lecture, an expert on success will provide his/her view on success and answer questions such as how is success obtained, explained and maintained and what is the scientific foundation for these aspects? During the business lecture the focal points will be the individual and professional success of the speaker. What lead up to his/her success? Did he/she encounter setbacks? But also, why is/was/were his/her firm(s) successful under his/her leadership? And what is the relation between personal and professional success? The lecture will end with the answering of the central question of the business lecture; Does the CEO make the company, or does the company make the CEO?
Finally, the political lecture will give a view into the macro-economic level of success which countries can experience. This will eventually give an answer to the question: Can the Netherlands be considered as successful and how can we maintain and/or improve this status?

During the afternoon, two parallel sessions will be held that deepen the plenary sessions. In each parallel session three speakers will give their view on a specific theme within ‘success'. After each parallel session a discussion will be held.

The 23rd Asset International Conference "Success" promises to be an inspiring conference: interesting experts, possibilities for personal development, interesting viewpoints and room for discussion will be provided.
