| Interfaculty Symposium |

Each year Asset organises an Interfaculty Symposium in cooperation with a students' association of another faculty than the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The aim is to broaden the economic student's horizon with an interdisciplinary approach to actual, interesting topics. During the symposium, a theme at the interface between the fields of interest of the two representing associations is dealt with. Past partner associations: Prioritijd (2002, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences), Juribes (2004, Faculty of Law), Complex (2004 and 2008, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences), Polis (2005, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences), INPUT (2006, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences) Magister JFT (2007, Faculty of Law). Each year Studium Generale contributes to the organisation of the Interfaculty Symposium. Since 2009 Tilburg University's Centre of Science and Values participates as well. Interfaculty Symposium 2009 The phenomenon greed raises various issues. It has been mentioned as the cause of the economic crisis, and large executive bonuses are also widely discussed. This year, every student is invited to participate in a discussion on greed in all of its facets. The concept of greed can be addressed from several different disciplines and will be discussed from different views during the symposium. Among others, Professor Margriet Sitskoorn will provide a lecture on how greed is manifested in the human brain. Professor Ilja van Beest will present a psychological view on the concept; and Professor Dolf van den Brink (former member of the Board of Directors of ABN-AMRO) will discuss greed and its effects on business in practice. Professor Herman de Regt will be the day chairman at the symposium and will present a philosophic discussion of greed. Where: DZ 2 Time: 15.00 - 18.00 (walk-in: 14.30)
